1：“The forecast is saying we'll have heavy rain tomorrow. What a bummer!”と言っている彼を慰めて
気持ちはわかるけど、天気についてはどうしようもないわ。
I can understand how you feel, but there's nothing we can do about the weather.
わたしの家に来て、わたしと恋愛映画をいっきに観ない？きっとすごく楽しいわよ。
Why don't you come to my place and binge-watch some romantic movies with me? It'll be a lot of fun!
2：学生から“Do we really have to learn English grammar? It's so boring.”と言われたら…
言っていることはわかりますが、わたしの見方とは異なります。
I can see your point, but that's not how I see it.
子供達は理想的な環境にありながら、母語を獲得するのに何年もかかります。わたしたちにはそんな時間はありません、そして文法はわたしたちに素晴らしい近道を与えてくれるのです。
It takes children years to acquire their native language even though they are in an ideal environment. We don't have such time, and grammar provides us with a great shortcut.
