1：What time does the bus leave?
これは直接疑問文です。直接疑問文では助動詞（この場合は「does」）が使われ、その後に動詞の原形 ”eave” が続きます。
例: "What time does the bus leave?"
2：Do you know what time the bus leaves?
これは間接疑問文です。間接疑問文では、疑問文の部分が通常の文の語順に従います。つまり、主語 ”the bus” の後に動詞 ”leaves” が続きます。
例: "Do you know what time the bus leaves?" ここでは、「what time the bus leaves」という部分が間接疑問文であり、通常の文の語順を保っています。
直接疑問文と間接疑問文の違いによって動詞の形が変わることを理解すると、-sが付く理由が明確になります。間接疑問文では疑問文の部分が平叙文の語順（主語 + 動詞）に従うため、「the bus leaves」となります。
